This book is the second volume in the new series World Health Organizations Classification of Tumours. The first volume of Pathology and Genetics of Tumours of the Nervous System, was published in February 2000 and already found an enthusiastic readership. The present volume on Pathology and Genetics of Tumours of the Digestive System includes neoplasms of the entire gastrointestinal tract, liver, biliary system and exocrine pancreas. The text reflects the consensus of an international WHO Working Group that convened in Lyon in November 1999. Citations are covered until mid 2000. The series will be continued in 2001 with monographs on tumours of lymphatic and haemopoietic tissues.
